CSR is not just an obligation but our opportunity to give something back to the world. Not only do we take full responsibility for our company with regards to the environment but strive to improve the quality of life of our workforce, their families and society at large. After all the environment belongs to us all!
At Vika we aim to manufacture our products with as little negative consequences to the environment as possible. Not only are we committed to exploring the use and implementation of new sustainable methods of production and technologies, but even with regards to the choice of raw materials we use to make our end products.
Vika conforms to all the guidelines of ISO26000. This information available to our customers and stakeholders via the international platform SEDEX, www.sedexglobal.com.
In 2016 our company was awarded a positive SMETA 4 pillar audit by the Bureau Veritas. Constantly aiming to push our boundaries, in 3 years’ time we are due to be re-audited and are working hard in the meantime to improve still further, by setting ourselves goals and conducting routine internal audits.
Sustainable Product Development
Our vast product range includes a number of certified organic cheese powders and stocks. You can find the Skal certification here.
Here at VIKA we are active fundraisers and welcome the opportunity to do our part. Not only are we a ‘War Child Business Friend’ but take a hands on approach to the support of our local community. Where possible, we always try to work with local suppliers and aid local initiatives such as adopting lambs from the Edese Schaapskooi (Sheep-fold) or through the sponsorship of local charities.
- Loyalty is to the values of the company, not to the company. If there are no values, then there is no loyalty.
- We take care of our people. And we have the long-term employment records to prove it!
- Profit, people, planet: equally important, vital, essential.
